This is an advanced piece in a contemporary/20th century classical style. Although it is not a true12-tone piece, The flute melodies were derived by using 12 tone series. The Piece is in 3 sections: ABA1. It is a very exuberantly energetic piece that is very virtuosic in nature - Both the Flute & the piano part are very tricky. The Opening section is very angular and feisty, the middle section is hypnotic and relaxing in it's repetitiveness, and the Ending is a return to the angular melodies with a big flourishing virtuosic and flamboyant ending. Great recital piece.
