This is the Bb clarinet ensemble version of J'ai Vu Le Loup (I saw the Wolf). "J'ai Vu Le Loup" is an old French song in which the Gregorian chant tune of "Dies Irae" becomes a lively dance. The lyrics describe seeing the wolf, the fox, and the hare (possibly the King, the Church, and the Landlord) eating, drinking, and dancing. Variations of this song seem to exist from as early as the 13th century and can be found in several European countries as well as in modern Cajun and Quebec French versions. Even modern pop and rap performers have made use of it. This Bb clarinet ensemble arrangement begins simply, then builds throughout to a frenzied, syncopated finale. Each part has its own interest.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
