These famous numbers are sure to delight guests at parties, weddings etc. and as a mood-lifting encore in recital concerts. The level is on the easier side of "advanced"; quickly rehearsed by professionals and an accessible challenge for experienced students.
Whenever practical, these arrangements are in the same tonality as the original. In this case, the arrangement was written for a group playing modern "Baroque" instruments, which sound a semitone below today’s concert pitch. F major is also a much nicer key on the oboe.
"Oboe Band" is a formation dating from the late 17th century.
