Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arranged by John Gibson. Classical. 12 pages. JB Linear #4792779. Published by JB Linear (A0.582065).

Minuet and Trio from Mozart's Symphony No. 39, K543 set for clarinet choir by John Gibson. Mozart's Symphony #39 features the clarinets in many ways, so to set the Minuet movement (3rd movement) for clarinet choir works very well. This arrangement takes a different approach by scoring for 2 solo clarinets playing the music mostly as found in the original orchestration, with the remaining clarinet parts filling in the remaining wind and string parts as needed. I suggest having one person on each of the solo 1st and solo 2nd parts, with at least 3 on a part for the two section Bb clarinet parts. There is also an alto clarinet part with an alternate Bb part if needed. To keep the music light, there is no Eb soprano part or contra bass part.
