Published by Cornelius Edition (uk) (A0.805580).Frank Bridge, 1879 - 1941, was an English composer, viola player, and conductor particularly known for his chamber music and songs. A student of Charles Villiers Stanford, he, in turn, became the teacher of Benjamin Britten. Although he composed in many genres, he was particularly successful in his smaller forms, such as this Spring Song which is taken from a collection of four small pieces for either violin or cello composed in 1912. In this arrangement, the original piano part is replaced by a cellist and the resulting duo is an attractive piece suitable for chamber music recitals or busking!
