Written in 1943 by Kim Gannon and Walter Kent, "I'll Be Home For Christmas" is a beautiful ballad that was originally intended as an homage to soldiers who were stationed overseas and unable to return home for the holidays. The song was recorded the same year by Bing Crosby, and his recording soon became a top 10 hit and cemented the song's place in popular Christmas repertoire -- so you can't go wrong having this one in your gig books! This Cellobat arrangement for violin and cello is a soulful rendition of the original, featuring beautiful soaring melodies, lovely harmonies, and even a cello melody at one point! Rated early intermediate; this will be playable for students and easily sightreadable for professionals.
