Composed by Irish Folk Tune. Arranged by Catherine Ing. Celtic,Holiday,Irish. 1 pages. Deusa Flauta Music #6701509. Published by Deusa Flauta Music (A0.1008934).

'Hunting the Hare' is a traditional jig, with the melody tracing its roots as far back as 1652. Some other names for this popular tune are 'Dawns Gwyl Ifan,' 'Hela’r Sgyfarnog,' 'The Hunt of the Hare,' 'St. John’s Eve Dance,' and 'Newcastle Beer.' There's even a version in 3/4 time used as an operatic ballad. Not a hunter? This tune is also great for drinking, or as something new to kick off your St. Patrick's Day festivities. Truly, this is a versatile tune with a lot of mileage!
