(For added flexibility, a bass clarinet alternative to the bassoon part is included with the set.) ‘Love and Marriage’ was originally written for a TV musical based on Thornton Wilder’s play ‘Our Town’. In addition to the two Sinatra versions, the song has also been recorded by artists such as Peggy Lee, Dinah Shore and Bing Crosby. More recently, it has been used as the theme music for the sitcom ‘Married…with Children’ and in advertisements for soup, breakfast cereal, chocolate and antiperspirant! This trio version of ‘Love and Marriage’ is ideal for a wedding or anniversary celebration – particularly one with a number of more mature guests! It could be performed as a feature item, or as appropriate background entertainment.
