Twenty-six marked solo options provide a range of opportunities to allow a beginner to participate (Solo 7) in a small way, to solos for intermediate students with fingerings in upper second and upper third positions and one in tenor clef (Solo 14) to a more advanced student shifting in and out of thumb position (Solo 19). The refrain is more of an intermediate level requiring extensions and use of upper second position, about the level of Suzuki Vol. 2 or above, putting Vol. 2 students on the Cello 2 part. For use as a duet, Cello 1 is of the level of Suzuki Vol. 6 or above, and Cello 2 of the level of Suzuki Vol. 4 or above.
