SKU: A0.1013124

Composed by Justin Bowe. Contemporary. Score and parts. 5 pages. Bowe Percussion #5997565. Published by Bowe Percussion (A0.1013124).

"Checkmate" is a university-level corps-style drumline cadence that utilizes snares, tenors (quads), either 5 or 6 bass drums, and marching cymbals. As the cadence plays out, it's a full-on chess game of 2-against-3, duple-against-triple, and groove-against-ram. At 88bpm, this is a slower cadence - it was written to be the on-field entrance cadence for the 2010 Marshall University Thundering Herd Drumline...but never made it to stadium. Don't try this on parade! Whether you want your drumline to lead the band onto the field with swagger, or you're looking for a phat lot jam, "Checkmate" could be yours!
