Published by O'Meara Music (A0.803993).In 1863 John Hopkins composed Gather Around the Christmas Tree. It’s harmonic structure and ending (Hosanna in the Highest) are very similar to Ding Dong! Merrily On High. This piece was a secular dance tune from the 1500’s. After being used for various settings, the Christmas words and music that we know today were published in 1924. Together they make a joyous piece to perform at Christmas time on Lever or Pedal Harps.
