Published by Pentharmonics (A0.1304484).The song "Näher, mein Gott, zu Dir" (Nearer, my God, to Thee) is a Christian Choral based on a poem of Sarah Flower Adams from 1841 with the melody composed by Lowell Mason in 1856. In Austria it is a well known and established song used at funerals, in particular, when the mortal remains are given to their final resting place.
The melody of the German Protestant funeral chant "Über den Sternen" (Beyond the stars) was composed by Franz Wilhelm Abt. The lyrics were written by Ida Hahn-Hahn and were published in 1868.
The PDF contains the score and all parts. The paper layout is actually designed for European A4 paper, but printing on 8.5 x 11 inches format has no effect on readability.
