♫ The movements of the tone poem Sketches of Christ are written using contemporary classical music composition techniques.
♫ The storyline behind the music is the interaction between Mary and Martha, 2 sisters with different personalities and goals.
♫ Martha’s theme is set in the Dorian Mode. The 5/4 meter is hectic and efficient. Mary’s theme is set in the Mixolydian Mode in 3/4 alternating with 4/4 time (effectively 7/4. This theme is calm and deep in thought.
