At times grandiose, at times capricious, it is not a direct journey but a tortuous one, through treacherous winds and icy sun, through winter’s beauty and spring’s calm.
This virtuosic, dramatic and exciting single-movement piece was commissioned by Tunbridge Wells International Young Concert Artists and first performed by Jamie Walton (cello) and Daniel Grimwood (piano).
