Composed by Alan Bullard. Contemporary. Score and part. 40 pages. Colne Edition / BullardMusic #798912. Published by Colne Edition / BullardMusic (A0.1200107).

Winter Variations is a journey from winter to spring – from minor to major. At times grandiose, at times capricious, it is not a direct journey but a tortuous one, through treacherous winds and icy sun, through winter’s beauty and spring’s calm.
This virtuosic, dramatic and exciting single-movement piece was commissioned by Tunbridge Wells International Young Concert Artists and first performed by Jamie Walton (cello) and Daniel Grimwood (piano).
Duration c.14 minutes.  The download includes the full score and the separate cello part.
