They have a folk like character but no folk music was consuIted.I do not know how they happened or why. I do know that I wanted to express the smile in music and this idea was much on my mind when I dreamed them.They may be played with the drone of an electronic tambura known as a 'Ragini' as accompaniment.Or they may be played alone as solos. They may also be played in groups playing some tutti or some alternating and taking turns one after the other. The work is for a variety of melodic instruments, and I have included parts for High, Middle and Low instruments. The preface gives a complete description of how to form a version for any musical needs.
