With its combination of chasing tremolos with melody lines it is inspired by visits of the Pays cathare in South West France, which in medieval times was part of Occitania, which still holds a rich spiritual heritage which tells from the Gnostic movement of the Cathars, from troubabours, minnesong and the long power struggle to defend the freedom ot this region, which was finally absorbed by the French king.
