Obs.: This study, meant to train firmness of bow, is part of the Études mélodiques et progressives, Op. 36, first published in 1843. You can play it using two different bowing techniques: martelé in the upper part of the bow, without leaving the strings, and collé in the lower part of the bow, lifting the bow with the fingers after every note.
