Published by Mr Matthew P Atherton (A0.1014309).A short set of two contrasting organ pieces, each composed at the start and end of a visit to Canada for the 1998 Calgary International Organ Festival. Both pieces were written away from any instrument and mostly during aeroplane flights.
The Peaks Below has a minimal and sparse texture, modal tonality, and would suit a beginning to developing player. There is an optional electronic accompaniment for this piece also.
Surrealist Fugue (No. 1) requires an advanced technique. Whilst it incorporates some fugal methods, it concentrates more on dissonances and free chromaticism.
