A simple melody is given three statements, starting with a calm mood and ending with a moving rendition of the melody. Each statement is in a different key giving the piece a feeling of rising flight. It would add a pleasing sense of emotional content to any concert, program, or service. Meaning of The Flight of Freedom: What is freedom? How is it defined? And what does it feel like? When composing this piece, I imagined freedom as a bird rising above the World unencumbered. As we rise with it, we experience the sheer joy of being free. I hope each performer and listener can experience true freedom in the deepest sense of the word, politically, emotionally, and spiritually.
