Published by North Node Music (A0.510276).Chopin's most instantly recognisable Polonaise, the "Military Polonaise" is lively and full of energy, and works very well as a piece for string ensemble. This arrangement can be performed with or without the double bass, and can also be performed as a string quartet (in this instance, the lower octave of the 1st violin double-stopping can be omitted). The change from A major to G major utilises the natural resonance of the string ensemble and avoids double-sharps.
