"Almost Home" is a leisurely, languid piece for elementary school string orchestra. The nostalgic strains of this composition bring to mind an old-time church service in that little white chapel in the valley. There's a sentimentality here that touches the soul and brings about a longing for all that was good and peaceful in America's past, as well as hope for our future. The uncomplicated yet graceful strains of the melody are sure to linger in the hearts of both your musicians and your audience.
      ALMOST HOME is an easy to play composition written with the young musician in mind and is arranged with all instruments in First Position. It will take minimum rehearsal time to prepare and will certainly bring a pleasurable smile to all faces in the audience. The String Bass plays pizzicato throughout while the rest of the ensemble utilizes arco to bring about a soothing and dreamy feeling.
