Saint Nicholas was well known for his generosity, particularly towards children. The famous character of "Santa Claus" has little similarity to the bishop "Saint Nicholas". "Jolly Old Saint Nicholas" is also used as a description for Santa Claus.
To accommodate lack of instrumentation, there is 1st violin, the 2nd violin and viola are doubled as are the cello and string bass
