2020 SMP Press Composition Contest Entry for the Popular instrumental ensemble category: This is a brass quintet arrangement of a lullaby which was written, performed and recorded by Josh Groban (with the South African acapella group Ladysmith Black Mambazo) for his 2006 album, AWAKE. The album was certified 2x platinum in the US by the RIAA on January 31, 2008, and has sold 2.3 million albums as of October 2015. It is the third top selling classical album of the 2000s in the US, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The song is in the key of C major, and the playing time is approximately 2.5 minutes. An optional voice part is included.
