Toccata per cembalo (in edizione per pianoforte a cura di J.M.Lanzetta) di Pietro Alessandro Guglielmi, compositore di Massa del tardo Settecento, proveniente da una famiglia di musicisti (Jacopo , il padre fu maestro di cappella nonché insegnante di fagotto e di viola; Domenico, il fratello maggiore, fu organista in duomo; maestro di cappella presso la duchessa Maria Beatrice d'Este sarebbe stato anche suo figlio Pietro Carlo). Studiò con Francesco Durante al Conservatorio di Santa Maria di Loreto a Napoli. Negli ultimi anni di vita, dopo che le sue opere teatrali avevano avuto particolare successo a Londra, in Germania e in Russia, accettò l'incarico di maestro di cappella della rinomata Cappella Giulia a Roma e si dedicò esclusivamente alla musica sacra, così che le sue musiche vennero dimenticate a favore degli emergenti Paisiello e Cimarosa.

A toccata for harpsichord by Pietro Alessandro Guglielmi (edited for piano by J.M.Lanzetta), a composer from Massa, Tuscany, who studied with Durante in Naples. He had large success as opera composer in Northern Italy, London, Germany, Russia, but finally dedicated his work to the sacred music for Cappella Giulia in Rome.
