Published by Andrew Howes (A0.951443).An arrangement for lower voices, either ATB or Counter-Tenor TB of the beautiful hymn by H Walford Davies. I have given it a steady, slow pulse of 2/2, lowered the pitch by a semitone and arranged some of the phrases to provided contrapuntal and attenuated layers of sound in contrast to the homophonic original. I wrote it in direct reponse for a setting of it as a funeral anthem for my dear friend of fifty years by his widow. It was beautifully performed by the men and ladies of the choir of Romsey Abbey this very afternoon : 25/10/2021. I commend it to you !
