Composed by Rory Dall O'Cahan. Arranged by Tull Glazener. Celtic,Irish,Wedding. Individual part. 2 pages. Eagle Creek Music #860727. Published by Eagle Creek Music (A0.1268168).

“Give Me Your Hand”, was composed by the blind Irish harpist Rory Dall O’Cahan in 1603. O’Cahan was a predecessor of Turlough O’Carolan in the tradition of traveling musicians who would make their way from town to town, playing music and writing compositions in honor of those who provided them room and board.  O'Cahan composed this tune for the wife of a Scottish nobleman named Lady Eglinton.   It became one of his best-known tunes, and spread quickly among the musicians of the day through the aural tradition. The first known publication of the music didn’t occur for over 150 years after it was composed. Today it has become a popular tune used for weddings.  This arrangement is suitable for the intermediate and above mountain dulcimer player.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
