"Kissing You," a song originally written for a scene in Baz Luhrmann's feature film Romeo + Juliet where the title characters meet each other at a ball, was released both on the film's soundtrack and on the third studio album of its singer Des'Ree. This beautiful pared-down ballad (whose instrumentation features only the vocals, a pianist, and strings) earned Des'Ree critical acclaim, with many praising the emotional depth the song brought to the movie. Ever since its release, "Kissing You" has become a fan favorite and a very popular choice for weddings. This arrangement for violin and cello duet definitely captures the beauty of the original, with beautiful harmonies, a full range of dynamic intensity, passionate melodic vocal lines, and the ethereal piano line in the middle.
