Lyte was a Scottish poet, scholar, theologian, and hymnist in the early 19th Centruy. He borrowed a tune attributed to Mozart. This should be played deliberately but not too slow. A modulation to a new key occurs at the end of section B with the aid of an Italian augmented sixth chord. Section C introduces a descant by yours truly.
