Composed by Robert Edward Smith. 20th Century,Classical. Score. 18 pages. ROBERT EDWARD SMITH MUSIC #978963. Published by ROBERT EDWARD SMITH MUSIC (A0.1395495).

Three songs welcoming the coming of spring.  The First Spring Day is about the world awakening to the new Spring after a long winter.  Man's Fancy is a light hearted song sung by a man who knows that he's head over heels for a woman who doesn't care about him, but it doesn't matter, because he's happy anyway.  May Morning, set to a gorgeous poem by John Milton, is about the fullness and warmth of May: "Hail bounteous May that doth inspire Mirth, and youth, and warm desire."

The songs are relatively short, about 3 minutes each.  The voice parts are not difficult, the piano part occasionally requires a pianist who is comfortable playing octaves and leaps.
