The only thing I was sure about was, I wanted it to be minimalist in style with ideas morphing into each other and letting that process shape the music.
“The Menagerie” is written for String Orchestra and is around 8’ 25” in duration. From the initial one note pedal tone, the piece evolves providing melodic and rhythmic nuances which create the music and direction.
