Published by Thomas Rembert Coker Jr (A0.933615).Built on the famous text from I Corinthians 13: 1-2, 4-8a, 13 (NCV), Faith, Hope, Love, was originally written as a solo for a wedding. Shortly thereafter, it was made into an SATB anthem for use with our choirs at South Main Baptist Church in Houston. Subsequently published by Alliance Music Publishers in Houston, it has been used many times by youth and adults for workshops, tours, worship services, concerts and weddings both at South Main and elsewhere. Thus, in 2018, 50 years after our own wedding in August of 1968 and 20 years after the anthem’s original publication, it seemed appropriate to reissue this haunting anthem as part of the celebration of our golden anniversary – and in the hope that others will continue to enjoy it.
