Grim (A0.939369).The Rain is a vibraphone solo with piano accompaniment that takes the idea of learning vibraphone with popular music to the next level. The piece is more difficult and has a harder piano part that is more involved and takes melody and harmony that gets brought to the vibraphone player and is taken between the two to create a fluid environment of sound. The title comes from my stay in Ghana, West Africa. There was a rain storm moving in, and it was quite heavy. This piece imitates this storm in the fact that you never really hear the first or last rain drop. You just hear the sound of the storm, not each individual drop.
