Gradualia is a collection of works for a variety of forces - solo voice with accompaniment, chorus to large ensemble - setting the English proper antiphon texts of the Catholic Mass. Using a simplified harmonic language and the traditional alternation of Antiphon - Psalm verse form, the works from the series ennoble a liturgical service and are accessible to professional and semi-professional ensembles and soloists.
"If You Love Me" borrows from and adapts Thomas Tallis's 1565 setting of the same name, arranging it for solo voice, recomposing it to match the text of the English Missal, and adding psalm verses alternatim.
