The song's origin can be traced back as far as 1670, alongside the similar Scottish ballad, 'The Elfin Knight'.Tthe title specifically refers to the location of Scarborough Fair, but there have been other versions that use other locations.
This version is for ladies choir (SSA) with a lovely piano accompaniment, which would be equally suited to a harp .
