He asked me to show him an example of re-arranging the harmony of a familiar song using Chord Substitution. I did the first 8 bars in a couple minutes during his lesson. Later, I decided to complete the whole song.
Reharmonization is the general term referring to the numerous ways of re- arranging the harmony of a song. Chord Substitution means the replacement of one chord with another chord that has the same function. Most of this arrangement is Chord Substitution.
