David Kovins founded the School for Musical Performance in Brooklyn, New York in 1980, where he teaches mallet-keyboard percussion, drumset, and piano. He has performed with the Jerome Robbins Dance Company, the Manhattan Percussion Ensemble, cabaret performers Anita Morris and Wayland Flowers., and Keyboardist Jordan Rudess, and Kovins leads his own Vibraphone-based group that records and performs in the New York area.
