Mvt I is inspired by modern open-world games like Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Mvt II is inspired by classic games like Castlevania, Metroid, Super Mario Bros. etc. Mvt III is inspired by funk music (and video game music) generally.
This horn sonata (TWV 82a) is an arrangement of my Contrabassoon Sonata (TWV 82), and the contrabassoon sonata is actually an arrangement of my Tuba Sonata (TWV 50).
This is definitely a low horn sonata! ;) The horn part is an octave higher than the contrabassoon version and perfect 5th higher than the tuba version.
The tuba, contrabassoon, and horn are all awesome instruments and they need more solo repertoire!
