Composed by Christopher Tye, James Montgomery, and William Monk. Arranged by Joshua Moore. A Cappella,Easter,Sacred. Octavo. 4 pages. Joshua Moore #6878063. Published by Joshua Moore (A0.1028523).

"Go to Dark Gethsemane" is a Lenten hymn that highlights several scenes from the last twelve hours of Jesus Christ's life. The story begins in the Garden of Gethsemane and proceeds through his trial and crucifixion. The hymn text was written by James Montgomery (1771-1854) and has has been set by many composers. The music for this arrangment was originally composed by Christopher Tye (1497-1572) and later modified by William H. Monk (1823-1889).

This arrangement is very straightforward being primarily homophonic/homorhythmic throughout and should be accessible by most TTBB  quartets and choruses.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
