Composed by Clifton Davis. 20th Century,Concert,Contemporary,Graduation. 7 pages. Clifton Allen Davis Music, ASCAP #5318747. Published by Clifton Allen Davis Music, ASCAP (A0.927267).

Yeats enigmatic poem entitled "Into the Twilight" form the lyrics of this neo-romatic art song.  Starting slowly and reflective, the piano transitions to a lilting meter to help the singer ecstatically express the love of Eire and all outdoors.  Part of a collection of settings of Yeats' poetry. While traveling in Sligo, Ireland, to celebrate a wedding anniversary, the composer purchased a copy of William Butler Yeats’s collected poems. In between hikes and other adventures, he  explored poems like "Into the Twilight" by allowing the text to push and then pull at the tempo.
