Published by Thomas Oboe Lee (A0.869405).Each year I would compose a birthday present for my wife's granddaughter, Becky. I started with a solo bassoon piece. Then I wrote a bassoon duo for her and her teacher. Then Becky told me she has a friend who plays the violin. So I wrote her a duo for violin and bassoon. The next year her brother took up the double bass, so I wrote a duo for bassoon and double bass and called it "A Canon for the Under Belly." Last year she told me she formed a wind trio with flute, clarinet and bassoon. So I did that for her. This year I decided that I would write something a bit more "serious" for her, a bassoon quartet. It is in six short movements and the last one is a fugue!!!
