Published by Philip Orem (A0.872583).I was requested to write a brass sextet shortly after the dog who had lived with me 14 years had passed. The result, for Sasha, is a brass sextet far more emotionally deep than the typical literature. A brief introduction of materials segues into movements one and two that explore the mental confusion and memories of Sasha's passing, including little nonsense songs I used to sing to him. The third movement explores my anger and then segues into the last movement where a resolution is never quite reached.
This is beautiful and challenging music. Includes score and parts.
