Composed by Franz Schubert. Arranged by Catriona Melville-Mason. Classical,Concert,Standards. 8 pages. C Melville-Mason #6491195. Published by C Melville-Mason (A0.956634).

Although reasonably successful in his native Austria, Franz Schubert (1797 – 1828) achieved widespread recognition only after his death, when a number of influential 19th Century composers – including Mendelssohn, Schumann, Brahms and Dvorak – discovered and championed his writing.

Like many of Schubert’s works, the Impromptu Op. 142, No 2 was not published during his lifetime.  The piece is in the form of a minuet and trio.  This version consists only of the minuet section – a charming melody with chordal accompaniment.  It is a personal favourite!
