The idea was to try to imitate the instruments in the band . . . clarinets, oboes, flutes, tubas, piccolos, drums – and to try to make the instrument sing by duplicating the most common melody riffs played by these instruments. The rhythms are a little more difficult than the average warm-up, however, they are easy to learn by rote or serves as an excellent music lesson. The vocal warm-up aspect of these songs help to develop vocal technique by using vowel sounds and consonant endings. Kazoos, whistles, squeezing the nose and other fun extras are just that . . . for fun!
