Concert Band - Level 3 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.1006525

Composed by Edward Elgar. Arranged by M. Randall McDonald, EdD. 20th Century. Score and parts. 141 pages. M. Randall McDonald #482325. Published by M. Randall McDonald (A0.1006525).

This is a transcription for band of the fifth Pomp and Circumstance March by Edward Elgar, in its entirety. Although unknown except through a few orchestra recordings, it is an example of Elgar at his finest. It was complete in 1930, about 25 years after Elgar completed the rest of his Opus 39. Pitched in the original key of Ab /C, the march is very playable at the intermediate level. There is some very interesting contrapuntal work, especially in the trio sections.
