Composed by Samuel A. Ward and Katherine Lee Bates. Arranged by John Wernega. Folk,Graduation,Holiday,Jazz,Patriotic. 3 pages. John Wernega #6486883. Published by John Wernega (A0.961474).

This beautiful setting is sure to be a crowd pleaser!  The introduction builds in texture with counterpoint, releasing into a rhythmic figure in close jazz chords.  The second verse is played by the fourth flute.  The lowest note in the fourth flute is a is a written C4, so there is no need for a B foot.  The highest note in the first flute is a G6.  This arrangement ends in a C major seventh chord, leaving the audience with a peaceful, serene feeling.
