Composed by George Frederick Root. Arranged by Paul Taylor. March,Patriotic,Praise & Worship,Traditional. Score. 2 pages. Paul Taylor #1013728. Published by Paul Taylor (A0.1433492).

This is a song promoting national unity during the civil war. It was so popular in the 1860's that fourteen printing presses operating concurrently were unable to keep up with the demand for this tune. It was used by President Lincoln and Garfield in their respective presidential campaigns as well. Louise Gottschaulk even proposed that this tune replace the Star-Spangled Banner as the official United States National anthem.  Here is appears with one verse and chorus and is suitable as a stand-alone piano solo for recitals, anthems, banquests, etc.,.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
