Published by James S Sclater (A0.961287).This is a big, virtuosic set of variations for an adventurous pianist. Duration is ca. 26 - 27 minutes. This work presents lots of opportunity to show a variety of emotions - jovial, sensitive, muscular, forceful, angry. etc. This is a challenge for the pianist and a treat for the listener. Written for Angela Willoughby, it was commissioned by the Mississippi Music Teachers Association and was a winner of the 2003 Music Prize from the Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters. Smaller groups of selected variations have been successfully used as recital material in instances where the complete set might prove too long.
