Published by Keith Gehle (A0.1364009).Hungarian pianist Stephen Heller (1813 - 1888) was a highly regarded performer, composer, and teacher during the height of the Romantic Era and closely acquainted with many of the greats of that time including Berlioz, Chopin and Lizst. He was a prolific composer for the piano writing many hundreds of pieces which remain popular to this day with teachers and students alike. The two pieces presented here were arranged for guitar and recorded in 2004 as part of Keith’s album entitled Nocturne, Music of the Romantics. And while Heller didn’t write these pieces to necessarily be played together, the common key of E minor and contrasting tempi make for a nice recital pairing. This PDF includes standard notation with tablature for ease of learning.
