Obs.: This piece is the first of the two Valses pour le Piano, Op. 69, CT 215-216. In September 1835, Chopin presented an autograph copy of this waltz as a farewell gift to Marie Wodzinska, to whom he was once engaged.
This autograph is kept in the National Library of Poland in Warsaw. The present edition represents this autograph. There also exists a different autograph of this waltz, kept at the Conservatoire de Paris, but it is considered to be a less refined version.
Moreover, the posthumous edition of Jules Fontana presents yet another version, which does not correspond to any known autograph.
