José Viñas y Díaz (1823-1888) was a Catalan composer considered one of the most virtuous guitarists of his time. His interpretations of the works of Aguado and Broca were considered exemplary. His compositions are completely rooted in the typical forms of that time (polkas, mazurcas, waltz and tango).
